Overview

I communicated with potential corporate sponsors for the 2019 Asian American Women in Leadership Conference.

Challenge

As a volunteer for Asian Sisters Participating in Reaching Excellence (ASPIRE), I was asked to get sponsorships for the upcoming Asian American Women in Leadership (AAWIL) conference in November. 

Corporate sponsors were able to choose a sponsorship level, which has varying benefits based on the amount they were willing to sponsor.

Process

Daisy Duan, who is in charge of sponsorship and outreach, compiled a list of potential corporate sponsors. From there, I emailed potential sponsors up to three times based on their responsiveness. 

Willing sponsors were added to the sponsorship tracking excel list that I created. This excel was created to track the materials ASPIRE needed from them (e.g. logos, ads) and communicate with them appropriately.

Outcomes

We were able to raise around $7000 in sponsorships. I coordinated with our corporate sponsors to make sure ASPIRE received the necessary materials for the conference and that the sponsors received the appropriate benefits.
